Designer's Notes

Hey there everyone! Welcome to my first Devlog done on Itch.io! For the past two years I've been writing and releasing logs on GitHub, and finally decided to make the switch over here. Overall this build represents so much for me. As this game is my MFA Graduate Thesis, it means so much to me to share it with the world. This build is also the version of the game that will be presented at the end-of-semester showcase at NYU. If you're in the Brooklyn / NYC area, come through! Bullet Points

Design

  • Stat tracking how counts Damage Taken
  • Added Stats to the Death Screen
  • You now must press Enter to reset the game on death, rather than an auto reset
  • Added Credits & Parody Credits to the main menu (love y'all)

Development

  • Found & Fixed bug where you could get soft-locked upon taking the God Heart
  • Found & Fixed bug where enemy procedural IK would move too slowly
  • Found & Fixed bug where explosions would not add Rage
  • Fixed issue where players could fall through the floor when entering and exiting rooms
  • Optimized Torch Particle effects by removing transparent draws

Visuals

  • Rebaked lighting in starting area
  • Energy Shields are no longer transparent
  • Updated all out of date reflection probes

Known Issues

  • Enemies run and hide too well at times
  • Some spawn points allow enemies to spawn inside walls
