Godwalker 0.40 Release Notes
Well well well. Here we are again. It's been nearly 6 months since the previous release of Godwalker. In that time I've been going through a personal transition in my own life, finding new jobs and working on lots of new games. As many of you know, this project was my Graduate Thesis, and when I graduated I explained that development would be far slower, and I really meant that.
This build of Godwalker has had nearly all of its systems reworked. Everything has been touched up from large important systems such as player movement, to the most minute aspects of enemy animation. There are only four maps in this build which loop endlessly, and the aim of this build is to paint a short and sweet picture of what this game could look like in the future.
I am intent on finishing the project between now and the end of time, and as I look at the plans I've laid out before me, it appears it will take years for me to finish them. Because of this I will be continuing to develop this project at an incredibly slow pace as I work on other game projects in parallel to it.

Design
- Built four new map designs
- Added introductory cutscene
- New start room
- Player can now carry unlimited weapons
- Weapon pickups completely reworked
- Godwalker now regenerates HP based on the rage level and amount of damage dealt
- Added in Godwalker slow-mo
- Some weapons now have Godwalker special abilities
- Removed effectiveness
- Changed how flying enemies navigate mid-air
- Increased enemy HP across the board
- Redesigned how enemies choose to navigate the environment
- Updated default fonts for some UI elements
- Godwalker is now more difficult to achieve and maintain
- Weapons are generally more difficult to use
VFX
- Added volumetric fog
- Added new procedural weapon animations
- Rewrote enemy shaders for stronger visibility
- Some weapons now have diegetic UI
- Altered default player UI
- Improved low-HP visibility
- Improved God-mode visibility across the board
- Improved light baking throughout the game
Audio
- Balanced audio of all guns, enemies, and environments for a more appealing gameplay experience
- Weapons now click when out of ammo
- Replaced weapon audio for the majority of weapons
Bugfixes
- Fixed an issue where some weapons could have a damage of 0
- Fixed bug with reverb being incorrect
- Fixed bug where you could get stuck in Godwalker
- Fixed weapon fire rate reset bug on swap
- Fixed player not being grounded correctly
- Fixed enemies getting stuck in corners
- Fixed rocket jumping not working correctly
- Fixed weapons not dealing more damage in God-mode
